Hello everyone!!!
Continuation of my haircut experience at Ulta Salons...
This time I made sure that I arrived at the Salons ON TIME so that there would be no conflict and the first thing I did was to check with the Store Manager to see whether they would accept my coupon which expired the day before. The last thing that I wanted was to get the haircut and have to pay FULL PRICE for it.
Store Manager tells me that they would NOT accept it because the code is no longer valid in the computer system. I then tell her what had happened on Friday and she then tells me that the stylist does not have the authority to approve this which basically means she was telling me that I could not use my coupon. I continue to tell her that the stylist had told me thata she was sure that it'll be okay and that she was going to talk to the Store Manager after I left to confirm. She then tells me to go to the back and wait while she checks with the General Manager. Almost immediately I got frustrated because she was pretty much shooing me away, plus I did not like her attitude.
I walk towards the back and the Stylist that I was scheduled with comes over and asked if I needed help so I told her that I had an appointment today. She sits me down and before we even proceeded I told her what the situation was because again I didn't want to get my hair done without getting the coupon situation sorted out. Almost immediately she said okay let me check and almost seems quite unhappy about it. I did not like that.
After sitting there for 20 minutes, stylist comes over and literally tells me "we can do it" and proceeds. They had to figure out how to enter a code and give me the discount. I felt like they were treating me like a problem customer, which I believe that I was not. I simply wanted to get a hair cut using my coupon on Friday but had to rescheduled and was promised that the coupon would be accepted and they turn it around to treat me as if I did something wrong? If they were not able to accept the coupon I would have been okay with it. I would be bummed but not frustrated.
Anyways ... I DIGRESS!!!
The stylist asked what I wanted to do with my hair and I told her. She did not seem friendly at all. Almost rejected what I wanted to do with my hair and told me that she can do it another way. I insisted that I wanted my hair a particular way and pretty much questioned "well can't you just do this?" and she pretty much said okay I can do that. So apparently I have to offer suggestions as to how to get my hair cut now...
She shampooed and conditioned my hair then puts in some products on my hair literally tells me "okay we are going to wait 5 minutes" and leaves. I thought to myself "is this the hair treatment?" and while I waited the 5 minutes literally staring at the storage/laundry room with the door open. With people going in and out constantly within a few steps from me. I didn't like it. Made me feel like I was in the way.
Once that was done she proceeded to cut, style, and blow dry my hair. There wasn't my conversation at first but she started to lighten up a bit which made the experience a little itty better. However, she did have to step away a couple of times to help out other customers which I didn't mind too much. I would have liked her to be more courteous and tell me that she was going to step away instead of just walking away.
I didn't like how she cut my bangs and asked her to fix it. It was a little better but not enough. The rest of the haircut was pretty good. It wasn't an amazing haircut but it was decent. I still did not like the bangs though.
Overall experience? I hate it. I would probably almost never go back for a haircut. UNLESS, I got another deal and even then it'll be a maybe.
First of all, I did NOT get a scalp massage (unless that was the shampooing part and if so it's misleading). Second, employees were rude and gave me attitude. Third, I would have liked a little bit more communucation with the employees if they were trying to figure something out or step away. Fourth, it would have been nice if the stylist was more informative about the products she used (but that's just me I like to know).
Now that I got a couple of washes in my hair looks healthier now that all the split ends are gone and the bangs aren't horrible.
I suppose I shouldn't expect too much out of it but I was still expecting a better treatment.
Of course this experience will depend on each store and the stylist so I hope that everyone else has a good experience unlike mine!
Stay tuned for more updates!!!
