I just donated $25 to the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer and it totally inspired me to do a quick post. No, I am not posting to rave about my donation because it's not like I donated hundreds.
One of my friends/coworker's grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer not too long ago and thankfully it was something minor and was caught early on so they were able to remove it right away.
Long story short, this insipred their family to be more active in the Breast Cancer Society and decided that they would help raise money for cancer reasearch and show their support by walking in August.
I just donated some money to their group and I know that $25 is not a lot but its something and I'm proud of it. You'll be surprized on how far $25 will go, just imagine for every person that you know donated $5 it'll definitely add up.
Anyone can donate and contribute to a good cause and sometimes it doesn't involve any money. Overtime, I'll be blogging more about the things that I do to help contribute to a good cause or just even being eco-friendly.
Sometimes when I talk to people about donating and doing a good thing the first response that I usually get is "I don't have any money". That has always irritated the crap out of me because everyone can afford to give a little. I'm not saying that I'm trying to make everyone donate money because it is totally up to you if you want to contribute but don't make money an issue. If you don't want to do it then you don't want to it. Don't make excuses.
I know that there are always so many scammers out there that just really ruins it for everyone. It frustrates me how these people can take advantage of the people who do things out of the kindness of their hearts. Because of all these scammers people are starting to become more and more reluctant to donate because they don't kno who to trust. That's why if you were to donate please donate directly to the foundation or to the American Red Cross. That is of course you know that you're 100% sure that the person or place you are donating to is reliable.
Don't really have much left to say but I'll try to post more frequently in the future :)
