Step 3 in Finding a Job - Resume Review
As mentioned previously your resume is extremely important and should definitely be something that you spend a lot of time on. You cannot magically create your resume in a day or two. It's one of those things that takes time and days to complete. In my case, since I am trying to actively find a job I'm going to actively apply for jobs and submit my resume while making changes here and there. I spent several days putting my resume together and I feel that it is definitely presentable at the moment. It ain't perfect but it will definitely be enough, at least that's what I think. Hahaha.
Here is a quick guide to what you should make sure of on your resume:
1. Make sure it's spelling & grammar error free
2. Make sure your contact information is there & accurate (Trust me you'll be surprised how many people don't put their information on their resume, sometimes the number isn't even working!)
3. Let a 3rd person review your resume (It's ALWAYS a good idea to get a third opinion on your resume, sometimes they can see errors or changes that you may not have noticed)
4. Once you're done with your resume let it sit and review again the next day
5. Before submitting make sure you review your resume for the last time!
6. Be sure that it's easily readable & it's organized
7. Formatting is okay!
Once your resume is up to par it is time to submit it everywhere!

1st & 2nd: Step to Finding a Job
Why hello there!
As mentioned before I'm going to blog my experience in finding a job and try to help out my fellow job seekers out there. Of course, I'm not guranteeing anyone that you'll find a job by following my basic guide but it will definitely do more good than harm. Throughout my blog posts, I'll include some descriptions of why each step is crucial and how it will benefit you.
So what's the first step in getting back into the work force?
Letting EVERYONE around you know that you are looking for work.
One of the most important things that people will repeatedly tell you is the importance of dun dun dun NETWORKING. Hahaha, I bet you knew that was coming but trust me, 48% of people land a job by networking. Now that is some high statistics.
Here are the rest of stats of how people land a job:
My Progress: I've contacted several people letting them know that I am on the lookout for a Full-time job, as well as some family members. :) However, I will admit that they don't seem very responsive it's definitely better than nothing. Even if they can offer advice it is definitely very valuable.
Second Step!
Giving your resume a makeover. This is definitely crucial and should take a lot of your time and effort because your resume is a representation of you. I was a recruiter for about 8 months so I've done my share of looking through and sorting through resumes. I can't stress enough how important your resume is because I see a lot of these minor errors that are just so frustrating and careless. Truth be told, it really makes you look bad. Spelling errors and formating is definitely preventable.
Now I'm not saying that your resume should look amazing, well it should but if you are in a rush to find a job as long as it is presentable it's fine. As long as it is error free, formatting isn't off, and it's readable you are on the right track. Also, bonus points if you can navigate through your resume easily if a recruiter is looking at your resume and is trying to figure it out. Chances are they don't have that kind of time and will pass up your resume.
Well there you go, take a few days to let everyone you know that you are looking for work and start tweaking your resume!
If you have any questions or comments please feel free to let me know, I am definitely open to any type of criticism and willing to give any advice :)
Enjoy!

Officially Unemployed
Hello everyone,
That's if anyone is even reading my blog at all, hahaha!
Yup, that's right I am indeed officially unemployed and is actively looking for a job. Just need to brush off the dust from my resume, update, and apply for everything!
So my internship unexpectedly ended on Friday and I've got to admit I'm pretty bummed about it. Of course I am a bit upset about it, but hey you know what I believe that this can definitely be a blessing in disguise. The V.P of Human Resources told me that my internship was coming to an end on Wednesday and that I had a choice of whether I would like to work until Friday or that Wednesday would just be my last day since she understands that it'll be quite difficult for me to continue work now that she has pretty much ended my time there. Conclusion? I chose to work the last two days. It was definitely extremely difficult for me to continue working but hey I'm not going to have a job I might as well get the most out of what I have left. Not only that but I owe it to my coworkers and all the managers that I've worked with to pretty much say my goodbyes and thank yous for the great experience that they have given me thoughout this internship.
I am definitely feeling very scared, nervous, anxious, and just a whole bunch of mixed emotions!
Well, now that I don't really have any excuses. More blog posts will definitely be posted! I think that with all of my experience in recruiting I can blog about what I'm going through in my job hunt. I can even give advice! I know that I don't have much experience but I've learned so much during that 8 months I was working. :)
The hardest part? Staying positive!
More will be updated!

Costume Reimbursement :)
Good morning everyone!
So I just got my reimbursement back :) a total of $30.43!! So exciting, it took about 2 weeks for it to reach my account, which I honestly don't think it is that bad. I just kind of assume that since Halloween just passed it's been pretty busy for them and took them a while to actually get to my request.
Would I ever purchase another costume from them again? HELL YEAH!!
Shipping was quick, costumes arrived brand new, and they have costumes for a great deal! Besides, if you are like me you would totally take advantage of the Low Price Gurantee policy that they have. I searched literally everywhere so that I can have them match the price and give me the 20% discount. Which in my opinion, I got an AMAZING deal out of. I purchased two costumes and with all of the discounts I only paid about $25 for each costume and that is including both TAX and SHIPPING!
I definitely recommend this website to anyone and everyone to their costume purchases. :)
I will definitely be purchasing my costumes from them in the future. I'm very pleased with everything.
Oh and one last thing ... they have a lot of variety of costumes too!
Yeah, I know Halloween is over, but hey for future reference!

Update on Costume Reimbursement
So I have yet to recieve any type of compensation for finding a cheaper alternative in another online store. I've sent an email to follow up earlier today, but I haven't recieved any responses yet. I'm a little sadden because I was pretty hyped up about it. I will however, not give up on this and will continue to follow up. I'll probably call tomorrow if I don't get any responses.
On another note, Halloween was awesome! I had a good time, nothing too crazy but it was just right. I even went trick or treating the next day which is always nice. I haven't went trick or treating in the longest time! Of course, I went with a bunch of kids :)
I hope that everyone had a safe and memorable Halloween like I did!
Currently, taking a short break from reading for my PHR exam. I'm a little freaked out because I've been slacking off so much and now I'm super behind! There is no way that I will pass this test but I ain't giving up that easily! I've already paid for it, I'm going to take it regardless!
More updates to come!

Cheap Costumes Online!
Good day everyone!
As mentioned on my previous post about a cheap online halloween costume store, I finally found myself some time to update you all about it. :)
Here is the website: www.costumediscounters.com
Because I'm cheap and always love a bargain, I'm always on the search for the best deals around.
Since Halloween is just right around the corner and I'm too lazy to actually make a costume I resorted to purchasing one. Even then I didn't want to spend my entire paycheck on one, yet I still wanted a good costume. I know right, I'm one pain in the ass person.
So what's great about this website is that it actually does have some pretty good prices and a great selection as well.
How do I know that I'm getting the best deal around? They have a Low Price Guarantee!!! Basically, if you find your costume in another online retailer store that is not marked at clearance, discounted, or wholesale they will not only match the price but they will also give you a 20% discount! Plus, I got free shipping because I spent over a certain amount. :)
Does that sound like a bargain or what?! I will admit it though it is a bit time consuming to find a cheaper seller out there that meets the requirements but I think its totally worth it.
I'm actually in the process right now to getting my money back because I was able to find a cheaper costume online, so yay for me! I'll keep you guys posted on this process because I actually haven't recieved any response to my request yet :( ....

Time Management
WOW almost 2 months of not blogging! That has got to be the longest that I've gone, but I have a great excuse. Okay, well not really but I do have an excuse though. Since the last time I've blogged so much has been going on. Birthdays, planning friends wedding, Vegas, birthdays again, and then back to Vegas.
Trust me for the entire month of September till the beginning of November is filled with stuff to do!
Honestly, I'm ridiculously tired and in need of sleep.
Plus, with all this rain its making me want to sleep all day.
I haven't been as active as I'd like in what I want to do lately, but I've kept myself busy which has it's pros and cons but I'm going to gradually take on more things because I'm not content with where I am at. So I need to continue moving.
Not only that but I've been kind of emo, there is just too much going on lately. Both good and bad, I just need some sort of breather to relax and take everything in. I'm surprised that I haven't flipped out yet actually.
By the way, I have an awesome website that I would like to share, but I'll save that for tomorrow or something.
Have a great day everyone!

Chickened out ...
Alright, so I told myself that I was going to ask for I guess an opportunity to transition to a full time position but I chickened out ... =\
It was so busy on Friday but I never really had the chance to sly right in to talk about it, and yeah I could have done it this week but I've decided to wait it out.
Reason? I'm waiting for the right moment to present it. I want to accomplish something like get a new hire or something and then while I'm in the room with her, then BAM I'll ask her. I just kind of need that opening to start it off instead "Hello, can I talk to you?"
Uggh ... this is killing me inside!! I'm totally freaking out, I don't want to get rejected ... of course nobody does but hopefully it works out.
We will see what happens I guess

Stepping Up
I'm currently a part-time recruiter at a company and believe me I love my job. I work with great people, a great company, and I'm learning a little something everyday. Its a job that I look forward to going into every single day.
The only problem is that I'm working only as a part-time employee and I would really love the opportunity to be converted to a full-time employee. I'll admit that when I first started my first 2 months or so I was not doing too well but after being critiqued I took it in went home and came back with a whole new perspective.
After that I've continued to improve and have continuously gotten amazing feedback from my supervisor and managers. Not only that but two weeks ago one of the managers sent the V.P of Human Resources (my supervisor) an email just pretty much appraising my performance and complimenting on my ability to fill the position. I was totally excited to see that my manager actually take that extra step to do that. I totally appreciate it :) and it really gives me that sense of accomplishment.
Not only that but my supervisor has asked me I believe on two occasions about how I'm liking it here and I think she was giving me that opening to ask or maybe even bring up the topic of converting to full time. Okay, I know I know how the hell did I end up at that conclusion. Hahaha, but one of my coworkers who also started off as the same position as me was asked that question and she brought up her concern about the position not being full time and pretty much long story short after like a period of time she got converted/promoted to full time. When I was asked, I didn't bring that up so I'm assuming it's one of those things that if you don't ask then I assume that you're okay with where you are at right now.
I have no idea if that makes any sense, but yeah. Hahaha
So tomorrow, I'm going to finally step up and bring up the topic to see if there is that opportunity to be converted to full time and what else is there that I can do to be considered . I'm like super nervous, I'm scared of rejection! Then again, it doesn't hurt to ask.
One of the things that I learned from my Counselor at college was not to be afraid to ask because what's the worst thing that they can say? Plain and simple, no. It's one of those opportunity costs kind of thing. If you ask and get rejected then fine, it didn't really hurt anybody. If you ask you have that one small chance of getting what you want and you can potentially gain so much more, just by asking.
Gosh, I am so scared!!! I've been thinking about it for the past few weeks, I even had a nightmare last night about it too!!
I will see how it goes though. *crosses fingers* Hopefully, it goes well.
Wish me luck!

Failed but Won
Alright so I failed, I didn't blog on Wednesday as planned BUT even though I failed I still won because I've been way more proactive this past week and I'm pretty darn proud of myself.
I worked out. I cleaned. I read. I got some errands done. I hanged out with my friends all weekend.
I am happy.
Now I just gotta keep at this pace but do a little more each day because I'll admit it, I'm a bit behind on where I want to be so each and every day I will strive to do a little more.
My camera is broken so I'll have a photo less blog for a very long time. Which I am not very happy about, but I'll get over it.
So Friday I got to hang out with my friends from SF went to the bar and had a pretty good time. Met some new people, it's nice to just hang out and have a good time.
Saturday, I got some lunch with them and went to Nisei for about 15 minutes because I had to take off to the boy's crib. The boy and I finally watched Toy Story 3!!! I love that movie! I teared up :( ... I really wasn't expecting that. Totally recommend it even though a good majority of the people have already seen it. Hahaha, then we went to D&B to eat & play some games. It was a good time.
Sunday, my friend and the rest of us bridesmaids met for the 1st time and went to the Bridal Expo at the Queen Mary. It was very nice, a lot better than the 1st one I went to at some hotel. This one had three floors! It also had a lot more cake vendors as well. They also had a much nicer fashion show, way more entertaining. Overall, it was a good time. It was tiring though caring all these books and free stuff. Headed home and just chilled for the rest of the day.
Now I'm ready to go back to work. The weekend definitely went by really quick and I only hope that every weekend was like this.
The best part of this weekend? Even though I spent my entire day out I only spent $14.50!!! How amazing is that?!
It just shows that you don't have to spend a lot of money to have a good time :)
Well I'm out of things to write about so I'm just gonna end it with this.
Live happily.

Selfawareness - The Two Things I Lack
Today, for some odd reason I just had a realization of the two things that I lack that's preventing me from getting to, achieving, and basically reaching my goals. So what are these two things? Consistency and Patience. Now, this can apply to everyone but today it finally clicked. I've finally realized what was keeping me from reaching my goals and getting me to where I want to be in life. So here are some of my goals and things to accomplish list.
1. Get back in shape (I've gained almost 20lbs in 4 years)
2. Improve my skin (I have crazy breakouts, acne scars, & sadly some wrinkles)
3. Save money (I've been spending way too much money on food, hence the weight gain)
4. Be educated (I'm currently studying for my PHR)
5. Be organized & clean (Trust me, I've taken over three rooms at my house, stuff is everywhere!)
Now I know it my list may sound very generic, I mean who the hell doesn't want to conquer all those things!
What's preventing me from getting there? CONSISTENCY AND PATIENCE!
1. Getting back in shape - so I know it, my bf knows it, even my friends know it. I've let myself go. Thankfully, the boy hasn't left me :) and actually kind of likes the jiggle haha. Alright, so I know I probably won't be a size 0 or a 1 EVER again like when I was in high school BUT I can probably go down a size and just tighten up a little bit here and there. So to encourage me to start working out again I joined the gym and figured since I'm paying for it I might as well go. I started off great, worked out 2-3 times a week for about 30-45 minutes and figured I'll continue to increase the intensity, time frame, and add more workout routines in the mix once I got the mojo started but NOPE! Worked out for about a 1month and never went back for 2months.
2. Improve my skin - My skin was never really an issue when I was younger but I realized that as I got older things just aren't the same anymore. More acne started to come up as the stress level went up. Which resulted in a lot of popping and acne scars. Definitely not a pretty look. Now, I'll admit it. My face isn't as bad as most but it definitely isn't as good as I'd like it to be. So I started to get facials to cleanse my face and get back on a more consistent routine instead of changing products week after week (now I have a zillion of products in my bathroom that needs to be finished). I have so many products that I had to throw some away because it expired and I've realized that it was such a waste of money. I've restricted myself from purchasing any new products until I finished what's in my bathroom. Back to facials, I was suppose to get a facial every month or so to really improve the skin and then it'll be every 3 months or so since my skin was so horrible. What ended up happening? I went once and didn't show up for another 2-3 months.
3. Save money - I wanted to start saving up money so in the future so I can live the life. I started saving money from every paycheck because I had a goal of how much I wanted to save by the end of the year. Worked out great for the first 3 months, then I just completely stopped saving and putting money away. Instead, I was spending more than usual. Not good.
4. Be educated - So one of my co-workers and I are studying for our PHR certification which we are planning on taking at the end of December. We purchased the book and everything and started studying the 1st month and had our flashcards and etc. Read up to chapter 3 and never looked at the book ever again.
5. Be organized and clean - As mentioned earlier, I've taken over three rooms at my house (my room, living room, and computer room). My stuff is literally everywhere, and it is literally taking over, nothing near hoarders but its still bad enough. I started cleaning everything and organizing everything for about 2 weeks, and by the following week, stuff was everywhere again.
Yup, epic fail on everything. So what does all those story all have in common? I lack consistency and patience!
After today, I'm going to tackle every single one of those things step by step. I believe that a little a day will go a long way. I feel that I am focused, I am determined, and I am motivated to totally own in all 5 of those categories!
I'm also going to try to blog more often, lets try once a week :) maybe every Wednesday or so.
Wish me luck!
Donations - American Cancer Society
I just donated $25 to the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer and it totally inspired me to do a quick post. No, I am not posting to rave about my donation because it's not like I donated hundreds.
One of my friends/coworker's grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer not too long ago and thankfully it was something minor and was caught early on so they were able to remove it right away.
Long story short, this insipred their family to be more active in the Breast Cancer Society and decided that they would help raise money for cancer reasearch and show their support by walking in August.
I just donated some money to their group and I know that $25 is not a lot but its something and I'm proud of it. You'll be surprized on how far $25 will go, just imagine for every person that you know donated $5 it'll definitely add up.
Anyone can donate and contribute to a good cause and sometimes it doesn't involve any money. Overtime, I'll be blogging more about the things that I do to help contribute to a good cause or just even being eco-friendly.
Sometimes when I talk to people about donating and doing a good thing the first response that I usually get is "I don't have any money". That has always irritated the crap out of me because everyone can afford to give a little. I'm not saying that I'm trying to make everyone donate money because it is totally up to you if you want to contribute but don't make money an issue. If you don't want to do it then you don't want to it. Don't make excuses.
I know that there are always so many scammers out there that just really ruins it for everyone. It frustrates me how these people can take advantage of the people who do things out of the kindness of their hearts. Because of all these scammers people are starting to become more and more reluctant to donate because they don't kno who to trust. That's why if you were to donate please donate directly to the foundation or to the American Red Cross. That is of course you know that you're 100% sure that the person or place you are donating to is reliable.
Don't really have much left to say but I'll try to post more frequently in the future :)

Streak of bad luck ...
Uggggh ... just wanted to take out a little frustration since I've been just out of luck lately.
I lost my driver license, credit card, and some cash. Someone dropped my camera and it is no longer working :( its going to cost me $125 to fix it (I know I might as well buy a new one, but it was a gift =\). All happened over the weekend, boo!
Also, I'm taking my car to the mechanic this weekend to replace the axle because every so often when I make a turn it'll make some weird noises so there goes a couple of bills.
I've also been holding back on changing my tires too because it just cost so much money! Technically, I was able to get away with only changing two tires but since I've pushed it back for so long now all 4 of my tires are bald. :( that is going to be a very expensive expense.
I've been driving without a license for a couple of days now and I'm hoping that I'll be able to go to DMV on Friday since I get off of work early that day. I'm crossing my fingers that this Friday isn't a furlough day. That's also going to cost me like $26? I forgot ...
Oh wells, I'm so grateful that I have a job so I know that I'll be able to afford all these fixes but man some of these are unnecessary fixes. Looks like I'll be cutting back for a while.
Man, I've been waiting to fix my laptop too cause half of my screen blacked out so I'm only working with half a screen ... :(
I'm sure that things will turn around. I just might get a hair cut this weekend just to give myself a picker upper, hahaha but I don't know if thats such a smart idea since I know have these expenses. We will see how emo I get I guess, hahaha.

Anime Expo :)
Anime Expo on Saturday was fun! I took a grip load of pictures with people in amazing costumes. Totally inspired me to go in a better costume next year (that's if we go again). I didn't really get to purchase much from the expo for myself but I didn't leave empty handed. I got a little something for several people. Bleach plush doll for my friend, pikachu pin for my cousin, and an amazingly cute plush pea with colorful peas in it for my baby cousin. I'll post pictures of it when I get the chance to take a picture of it. In the mean time, I'll post SOME pictures that I took at the expo. :)
People waiting to go into the expo as I freely walked up the stairs like a VIP attendee. Not really VIP but we found a way to get in before everyone else :).
Look at all the people waiting!
(Pictures are in no particular order, just want them to be organized)

ANIME EXPO TOMORROW!
Tomorrow I'm going to be attending the Anime Expo at the L.A Convention Center and I'm ridiculously excited for it. I just wished that we had planned it earlier so I could come up with a better outfit/costume to wear :)
It's going to my first time ever going to an Anime Expo, so I'm really looking forward to it.
I just started getting into anime because the bf sucked me into it. Sadly, I haven't really been up to date with the episodes because there has been so much going on lately. Especially since I work Monday - Friday with a long commute (approx. 1hr) so it's taking a toll on my physically and mentally. I'm finally managing to have a balance between my social life and work life just needs a few tweets here and there and I'm set.
I've decided that I wanted to start blogging again just because I feel like it's a great way for me to "document" my life. Plus, I feel that I do occasionally encounter something cool that perhaps someone out there might be interested in knowing as well.
We will see how this goes :) I get so lazy now I might just forget about this whole blogging thing after a few weeks. haha
